The A96 was closed in both directions after a collision between two vehicles. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.

Emergency services were called to the accident between Forres and Nairn at around 7.30am on Monday.

Motorists have been urged to avoid the area and to expect delays in their journey.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “The A96 between Forres and Nairn is closed in both directions following an accident involving two vehicles.

“Motorists are asked to avoid the area and diversions are in place.

“Anyone taking a trip is asked to allow additional time. Emergency services remain on site.”
