Police were called to a retail center in Hampshire at the weekend after a flash sale on Le Creuset kitchenware resulted in queues so long that the entire area was closed.

Officers were called to the scene in Andover, Hampshire, where a long, winding queue of eager shoppers stretched for miles in anticipation of a flash sale on the premium brand.

People traveled from across the country to attend the sale, which began at 9 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday and offered discounts of up to half price on casserole dishes, baking sheets, dishes and more.

Such was the popularity of the event that London-based shoppers reported getting up before dawn and being among the first through the door, while other bargain hunters queued for up to four hours for a chance at the event Get first-class kitchen utensils.

Le Creuset turns 100 next year and its products are known for their high quality and lifetime guarantee.

The brand’s iconic Volcanic Orange color is a staple in many kitchens, but its casserole dishes can cost between £200 and £600.

Police have confirmed that due to the high volume of people coming to the site, officers were deployed to assist with traffic control.

This is Le Creuset’s second warehouse sale in Andover this year, with the first one in March drawing a similar crowd.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Hampshire Police said: “We were monitoring London Road and the A3093 in Andover on Saturday morning following reports of heavy traffic congestion in the area.”

“We received the first reports at 9:45 a.m. and helped with traffic control. Traffic had eased around 11:15 a.m. and we left the area shortly after.

Le Creuset called the warehouse sale its “largest in-person event,” which was ticketless and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
