Bets about the end of Kika and Leiner have been circulating in the furniture trade for months. The only disagreement in the industry was whether the bankruptcy would occur before or after Christmas. Now there is certainty: the group has lost the fight for survival after three changes of ownership. The bankruptcy application was filed once again on Tuesday. 1,400 employees in 17 furniture stores are affected. Eleven locations operate under the Kika brand, six under Leiner.
