The Falke family loves consumption and doesn’t pay much attention to the environment. But her daughter is putting pressure on her. There should be an eco-challenge. And that could still change. For a week, everything at the Falcons is turned upside down. What could she do differently to become more sustainable? And can you even save money? The parents of three, René and Katja Falke from Bedburg, live freely, don’t pay attention to the cent, nor do they have a strong green conscience. Consumption is very important in her household. Clothing, food and electrical appliances are found in abundance. Whatever is no longer needed gathers dust in the closet or is thrown away. But eight-year-old daughter Leonie has had enough. Since she started dealing with the topic of sustainability at school, she has been giving her parents a lot of steam. She checked: not only do mom and dad live pretty unecologically, they also throw huge amounts of money out the window. The parents’ knowledge is actually there, but nothing changes. Well, almost nothing: Up until now, mom and dad thought that with two electric cars and a PV system on the roof, they would be well positioned in these issues. But thanks to daughter Leonie, it is now clear that a lot more could be done here. The parents want to respond to their daughter’s wishes and concerns. But they don’t know how they can really organize their household more sustainably. You need help. A case for the moderator team Anni Dunkelmann and Achim Sam. They pay the family a visit and give numerous tips and show tricks on how the Falkes can not only save money but also live more sustainably. Much to the delight of daughter Leonie. But can the Falkes really be convinced?
