The Warcraft franchise is 30 years old and to mark the occasion, Blizzard held a Warcraft Direct today where there were numerous announcements about various games. We were bombarded with news for a full 45 minutes. Among other things, you can look forward to fresh start servers in WoW Classic, a car in World of Warcraft, a crossover for Hearthstone and more Warcraft in your life.

We have summarized everything that was announced at Warcraft Direct for the franchise’s 30th birthday here:

Zerg rush to Molten Core? It will be possible in Hearthstone

2025 started with a crossover event for Hearthstone when the three Starcraft factions Protoss, Terran and Zerg entered the tavern to duel with the various Warcraft characters. Above all, the individual faction cards should work well, so it’s really worth investing in your favorite faction. The so-called “Heroes of Starcraft” set will also contain more cards than any mini set has ever had before.

Hearthstone: The new expansions at a glance

Immediately afterwards, the “Underground Arena” opens its doors, a brand new mode for the popular arena. On the one hand, it should last much longer, and on the other hand, there are also a few new features that should make the new mode feel really different.

After the arena, the Emerald Dream follows as the first expansion of 2025. We go back to the Un’Goro Crater, where, according to Blizzard, we should pay particular attention to the volcano. The year then ends with Chromie sending us through alternate realities so we can recruit different heroes.

Warcraft Rumble is finally no longer tied to your mobile phone

Anyone who was interested in Warcraft Rumble but simply doesn’t want to play on their cell phone can now rejoice: Warcraft Rumble will soon be released for the PC. A beta for the PC version is scheduled to start on December 10th. Along with the PC release, a new type of hero will also be introduced. These belong to two different “families”. New characters include Orgrim Doomhammer, Malfurion Stormrage and Anub’arak.

Warcraft ReForged

After Warcraft 3: Reforged wasn’t well received when it was released, Blizzard announced that it would improve the game considerably in order, among other things, to keep the promise made in the original announcement. To mark this occasion, the 2.0 update has now been released, with which players can, among other things, switch between the original and revised graphics.

In addition, Blizzard surprisingly also released remasters for Warcraft and Warcraft 2. Not only can they be played online, all maps from the original games should also work in the remaster. All three games are part of a new Battle Chest, the price of which depends on which games you already own.

World of Warcraft Classic continues

Unsurprisingly, Blizzard announced Mists of Pandaria Classic for Warcraft Direct. After Cataclysm ends, sometime in 2025, players will once again be able to explore the wonders of Pandaria, play the Monk class, and hopefully not be stuck in the Battle for Orgrimmar again for over a year.

On top of that, there will be new realms for World of Warcraft (buy now ) Classic, which are intended to offer players a “fresh start”. There will also be “hardcore” servers here, where new content will be gradually unlocked, just like back in the original release.

World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 2

For most players, all of the announcements surrounding World of Warcraft will be most interesting. Patch 11.0.7 will officially be released in December this year. After that, patch 11.1, called Undermined, awaits us at the beginning of next year. In the patch, players explore the goblins’ homeland, Undermine, and continue to pursue Xal’atath to condemn their plans.

The second season of The War Within also starts with Undermined, which includes, among other things, two new depths, a dungeon and of course a new raid. In the raid, players face none other than Gallywix and his allies. The giant flute from Battle for Azeroth also returns in the second season.

World of Warcraft is getting a real car as a mount

Also included is a completely new type of ground mount that players can use to jet through the Goblin City. The car should be significantly faster than normal ground mounts and will probably be based on the well-known sky riding. Who hasn’t always wanted to replay Fast and Furious in WoW?

World of Warcraft: Finally there is real housing

Finally, a bearded Ion Hazzikostas announced the first feature of the next expansion World of Warcraft: Midnight: Housing. In Midnight, users will finally be able to call their own little house and hopefully decorate it according to their own taste. Further information about housing will follow in the next few months.
