According to law enforcement reports, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce recently had their homes broken into within days of each other. The incidents occurred around the time of the Chiefs’ game against the New Orleans Saints on October 7, as first reported by TMZ. Both cases remain under investigation and no injuries have been reported.

According to law enforcement, the first burglary occurred on October 6 at Mahomes’ residence, which is located in a gated community in Cass County, Missouri, south of Kansas City. The one-page sheriff’s report obtained by the Associated Press does not name Mahomes but shows a call made shortly after midnight to report a burglary. Mahomes expressed frustration over the incident in an address to the media on Wednesday, saying, “Obviously it’s frustrating and disappointing,” and indicating that he could not provide further details due to the ongoing investigation.

The second incident reportedly occurred on the evening of October 7th when the Chiefs played the Saints at Arrowhead Stadium. This time the break-in occurred at an apartment that matched Kelce’s address in the wealthy Kansas suburb of Leawood. Police reports say approximately $20,000 cash was stolen and the back door was damaged. The crime was only reported early in the morning.

While Mahomes has not publicly commented on any missing items, the report on Kelce’s property states that approximately $20,000 in cash was stolen. A back door to his 16,000-square-foot home, which includes a wine cellar, pool and garage, was also damaged.

Are the authorities investigating the incidents?

Both incidents are currently under investigation and authorities have not announced any suspects or arrests. Cass County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Ronnie Lozano confirmed the investigation but declined to provide further details. Similarly, Leawood Police Capt. Jason Ahring said the department does not comment on specific crime victims unless it is a death or homicide.
