Combination of fixed lines and on-demand shuttle

Combination of fixed lines and on-demand shuttle

As part of the 2024 budget debate, the Gronau City Council decided to cap the budget for local public transport. On this basis, the administration, together with Regionalverkehr Münsterland GmbH (RVM) and in coordination with the citizens’ bus association, has developed various variants to reorganize the G-Mobil concept.

At its meeting on August 29, 2024, the Committee for Mobility, Environment and Climate Protection (MUK) decided to allow the G-Mobil to drive on fixed routes in the future. The new plans were finally acknowledged in the MUK on December 3, 2024. The city of Gronau reports this in a press release.

From January 7, 2025, the following regulations apply to G-Mobil:

Fixed scheduled trips
Three new city bus routes replace the previous weekday shuttle service from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.:

C1: The Ring line West runs from Gronau train station daily towards the Church of the Redeemer and once an hour in the direction of St. Antonius Hospital. C2: The ring line is east every 30 minutes from Gronau train station in the direction of Lukas Hospital, Damaschkering and Kurt-Ackermann-Straße. C3: The southeast line towards the east commercial area with Hertie, indoor swimming pool, Eilermarkschule and Einsteinring starts depending on the time of day and destination once or twice an hour from Gronau train station. During peak hours from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., trips to the commercial area take place once per hour to Einsteinring marked instead (light green below).
