Star Overdrive has a release date

Italian developer Caracal Games today announced the release date for their highly anticipated indie open-world action-adventure Star Overdrive. It will be released on April 10, 2025 for the Nintendo Switch.

As you traverse the game’s expansive alien world, you’ll face challenging enemies, solve tricky puzzles, and uncover secrets hidden in various biomes. The game allows you to customize your hoverboard and adjust its speed, handling and gravity to suit your personal style or the challenges at hand.

After the Nintendo Direct presentation in August 2024, “Star Overdrive” caught the attention of sci-fi and action-adventure fans. During the reveal, the developers cited The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as one of their biggest inspirations. While Star Overdrive is inspired by classic open-world action games, it offers a unique experience with its hoverboard-based navigation and physics-controlled powers.
