ECB slightly lowers growth and inflation prospects

The European Central Bank cut its medium-term growth expectations and lowered its inflation forecasts on Thursday.

The euro zone economy is expected to grow by 0.7 percent in 2024, instead of the 0.8 percent forecast in September. Growth of 1.1 percent and 1.4 percent is forecast for 2025 and 2026, respectively.

The inflation rate was forecast at 2.4 percent for 2024 and 2.1 percent for 2025, each corresponding to a decrease of 0.1 percentage points.
