5,000 km in 2.5 months with my Seltos; Kudos to ADAS!

I am convinced that it is a well-suited radar system for Indian highways, but not so much for city traffic.

BHPian Col Mehta recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

It has covered 5,000 km in two and a half months and so far the operation has been smooth and without any problems. We drove the car for the first time at 120 kmph (on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway) and it felt rock solid at that speed. One of the benefits of stiff suspensions: They make the car feel more stable at high speeds.

Average fuel efficiency is ~17 km/h, which is good considering we usually drive with a heavy foot and the car sees both open roads and heavy traffic.

Kudos to the ADAS. Even in dense fog/smog, the system reliably detects road markings and traffic. We consistently used the adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and lane departure warning, and they worked brilliantly in poor visibility conditions. I am convinced that it is a well-suited radar system for Indian highways, although not so much for city traffic, especially for the collision avoidance assist which is permanently switched off after the heartbreaking experience we had.

Also, the annoying “take a coffee break” notification definitely disappears when Lane Departure Warning and Lane Departure Warning are turned on, as mentioned by @blogslogger – thanks for the suggestion, it works.
