From snake-themed events to whether you’re lucky, discover everything you need to know about the upcoming Lunar New Year on our blog Year of the Snake 2025 series.

If you’re looking for a “safe” excursion in Hong Kong on the third day of the Lunar New Year – an ominous day according to folklore – then head to Wildtrek Hong Kong’s Chinese New Year Snake Tour 2025.

The tour is not so much a tour as two trail races through the Sai Kung East and West Country Parks in the New Territories on January 31st.

The Third day of the new year is known as Chi Kou or red mouth in the Chinese calendar and is a day when the risk of an argument with someone is highest. Tradition says that on this day it is best to take part in outdoor activities and enjoy nature rather than visiting relatives or having other people at home so as not to be offended or offended.
