In 1978, “Christmas at the Hoppenstedts” was published as the sixth part of the “Loriot” series. Since then, the film has been shown regularly on television at Christmas.

It’s about the Christmas party that the Hoppenstedt family spends. The Hoppenstedt couple have to deal with some representatives in their apartment who want to sell them numerous things from insurance to vacuum cleaners. Grandpa Hoppenstedt goes to the toy store and has some very misunderstanding conversations with the employees. After all the stress, the family would like to spend Christmas Eve as comfortably as possible, but that doesn’t happen so quickly, and not just because Grandpa Hoppenstedt got a nuclear power plant for his son, which doesn’t seem to be just a toy after all.
