Michaelis and Thürkauf as serial offenders

International Ice is NHL.com/de’s weekly series reporting on NHL-related players from major European leagues. The focus is on actors from Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Two strikers with NHL experience have become serial offenders in recent days when collecting points in the PENNY DEL and the Swiss National League. We’re talking about Marc Michaelis (Adler Mannheim) and Calvin Thürkauf (HC Lugano). One scored for the fifth time in a row, the other for the fourth time.

Michaelis extends points streak, Kühnhackl with assist

Two games, two wins was Adler Mannheim’s record last week. Marc Michaelis scored in both games and extended his points streak to five matches. He scored 3-0 in the 4-1 home win against EHC Red Bull Munich on Friday. Two days later he was credited with the secondary assist in the 1-1 equalizer against the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven. In the end, Mannheim won 2-1. During his streak, Michaelis collected five points (three goals, two assists). So far this season he has managed 19 points (eight goals, eleven assists) from 28 appearances.

Tom Kühnhackl also got on the scoresheet in the win against the Red Bulls. He provided the assist for Adler’s fourth goal. In the previous three games he had come away empty-handed. After 25 appearances, he has registered eleven points (seven goals, four assists).
