Three completely different films promise exciting entertainment for every taste. Which one is the most convincing tonight?

“The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” (RTLZWEI, 8:15 p.m.)
Great Britain in the time of Queen Victoria: A masked megalomaniac who calls himself “The Phantom” wants to take over the world. To this end, he plans to sabotage the summit meeting of all statesmen taking place in Venice. In return, the Phantom accepts the complete destruction of the city: a chain of explosions is intended to destroy the lagoon city. The explosive case is right up the alley of the “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”. The seven members of the league are individualists, outcasts of society with an eventful past. Each of them has special gifts that have had both devastating and healing effects. What matters now is that they learn to trust each other and work together as a team, because the hope of humanity rests on them. Under the leadership of Allan Quartermain, Captain Nemo, the eternally young Dorian Gray, the vampire bride Mina, the invisible man, the US agent Tom Sawyer and Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde on the way. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen have 96 hours to save the world. Venice is celebrating Carnival when the League arrives and the Nautilus anchors in a remote canal. But Quatermain and his team don’t feel like celebrating: they quickly realize that the Phantom has already done a great job. The city is mined with explosives. If the first building blows up, a chain reaction is triggered and Venice sinks. It’s high time: Nemo develops a plan and the extraordinary league’s counterattack begins. The first bombs explode, buildings collapse, but Quatermain and Co are now fully in their element. They are hot on the heels of the Phantom and the traitor among them.
