These large supermarkets are new

Big changes are coming to the two major bonus programs Payback and DeutschlandCard in 2025. At Payback, REWE and Penny are the two largest partners. EDEKA and Netto were able to be brought in as replacements. These were previously with DeutschlandCard and are now missing as the largest partner there. DeutschlandCard is now announcing a realignment of the program from January 2nd.

ALDI, LIDL and Co. at DeutschlandCard

Without large supermarkets as partners, DeutschlandCard has to replan. In addition to the points per card, a new way to collect points is introduced. From January 2, 2025, the so-called points scanner will be available in the DeutschlandCard app. You can use this to scan the receipt from participating retailers and receive points.

The special thing about this is that the dealers are selected via DeutschlandCard and is therefore independent of whether the respective dealer is a partner. According to DeutschlandCard, collecting points initially works at 23 retailers with over 30,000 sales. Included are supermarkets, discounters, drugstores and pet shops.

The following companies will be supported at the start: ALDI Nord, ALDI SÜD, DAS FUTTERHAUS, Dehner, Denns BioMarkt, dm, EDEKA, famila, Fressnapf, GLOBUS, HIT, Kaufland, LIDL, MARKANT, Marktkauf, Müller, Netto Marken-Discount, Norma, PENNY, REWE, ROSSMANN, tegut and ZOO & Co.

This is how collecting points via the app works

You can find the points scanner in the DeutschlandCard app. When taking photos, the receipt must be legible and complete. You can upload up to four photos per receipt in order to fully photograph even long receipts. Important: The receipts may be a maximum of 30 days old.

The receipts are then checked by machine within a few hours. In exceptional cases this can take up to 48 hours. If the receipt is accepted, your points will be credited to you. If something went wrong, you will also see this in the app.

How many points you get per voucher depends on your coupons, says DeutschlandCard. By uploading the vouchers, you agree (as with the points with the plastic card) that the data can be evaluated and used for advertising purposes. You will also receive special offers and coupons in the app based on your alternative.

The points you collect can be exchanged for vouchers and non-cash rewards. With the two partners Esso and ROFU you can still pay with the credit using a plastic card or app.
