Why I still think the Honda City is relevant compared to the competition

Buyer preference has changed towards shinier, cleaner looking cars. This in no way means that the City is a bad car.

It seems as if the humble city is being unfairly attacked from all sides

I just got my 5th generation city and the timing of this thread makes me feel like I was sent to defend the city. The City is by no means a bad car. PERIOD. Admittedly, the City’s i-vtec is no longer the most powerful in the segment and the City doesn’t look as attractive as a Virtus or a Slavia.

For these reasons, the VW Group twins took over the segment. I’m sure no one in this community will correct me when I say that the chances of your city leaving you stranded somewhere are very slim. that the City will last comfortably for more than 10 years with minimal maintenance (which Honda now markets with its 10-year extended warranty packages); that the City is the most comfortable sedan in the segment; that the city has well-coordinated governance; that the city will provide you with a versatile, ADAS-enabled vehicle at a cost of 15 lakhs; that the City does not require you to maintain an FD for unscheduled repairs; that the city will retain its value longer than any of its competitors; that the city is by no means slow; among many other things.

In short: is the city the most exciting choice in this segment? No. Does the city have more advantages and fewer disadvantages than all of its competitors? Yes. What are the chances that you will regret buying a city? Very low.

Buyer preference has changed towards shinier, cleaner looking cars. This in no way means that the City is a bad car. Yay city!!
