Alternative to the ice cream fairy tale: Young Penzbergers are in demand – Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

Alternative to the ice cream fairy tale: Young Penzbergers are in demand – Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

This winter season, the Penzberg town square is quite sad without “Hanni’s Ice Cream Fairy Tale”. The ice skating event with festive Christmas decorations has always been a popular meeting place for all ages from near and far. For financial reasons, the city of Penzberg had to cancel the ice fairy tale this year. The city council faction of “Penzberg Miteinander” is now submitting an application to look for an alternative. Children and young people should contribute ideas for this.

In order to liven up the town square at least a little, the delicacy market will be taking place there until Sunday, December 29th, which also provided visitors with drinks and food during the ice fairy tale. However, not everyone likes the design of the stalls. In particular, the construction fence that surrounds the stands is met with criticism – especially since it was not a requirement of the city. The topic was in the city council. Department head Thomas Kapfer-Arrington explained that the organizer of the delicacy market, Monika Schmid, wanted the construction fence to protect a railway that children could have ridden. “We’re still waiting for them today.”

No money for the ice cream fairy tale

Meanwhile, “Penzberg Together” takes a different approach. The group proposes to consider an alternative winter event. “Hanni’s Ice Cream Fairy Tale” will not exist in the near future due to the city’s financial difficulties. “In addition, the ice rink has always required a lot of energy, which contradicts the pursuit of climate neutrality,” says the letter to Mayor Stefan Korpan (CSU) and the city council. Nevertheless, “children and young people being together during the sociable Advent season is definitely desirable.” It therefore makes sense to involve the main target group of the ice fairy tale in the search for an alternative. The four city councilors emphasize that it is about a collection of ideas and not a request concert.

The city council should therefore decide “that within the framework of these associations that look after children and young people, volunteers will be sought to evaluate a questionnaire campaign and that after around four to six volunteers have been found, the local schools will ask them to take part in a survey on the subject “Winter fun is requested”.

The group also states in its motion that in this way young citizens would be specifically informed about cost and energy savings. Furthermore, the target audience’s imagination would be used to “create a new winter pleasure”. On top of that, it was possible to actively contribute to the democratic education of tomorrow’s decision-makers. “We are looking for an attractive leisure activity together with young people.” Nothing is served ready-made.” No costs are incurred when looking for alternatives.
