Charity march around Lake Starnberg – Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

The so-called Epiphany Tour will take place for the eighth time on Saturday, January 4th. More than 500 hiking enthusiasts from all over Germany and neighboring countries are expected to circle Lake Starnberg on a 50-kilometer route. The event, which the organizers consider to be an insider tip in the ultra hiking scene, combines sport, nature and community with a charitable cause.

For the first time, the tour started from the TSV Tutzing sports grounds. Check-in begins at 7 a.m., the start takes place from 8 a.m. in three groups. Volunteers at refreshment stations along the route ensure the well-being of the participants.

The tradition of charitable hikes around Lake Starnberg continues after the unexpected death of founder Manni Kager. The “Hiking and Walking for a Good Cause Hochtaunus” association from Oberursel runs the organization. “It was a matter of honor for us to become part of the organizing team,” says Markus Kotkowski, co-founder of the association.

The start tickets are given out free of charge, and at the finish the participants make voluntary donations for social projects. Due to high demand, all tickets are already sold out. If remaining tickets are available at short notice due to cancellations, they can be ordered via the Eventbrite portal using the keyword “Epiphany Tour”. You can also join the waiting list there.
