Ambani’s hired IIM graduate breaks his silence on hosting the biggest wedding of 2024 | On trend

Joseph Radhik, the acclaimed photographer who captured the opulence of the Ambani weddings, considered one of the most expensive in India’s history, has had an illustrious career documenting the most intimate and extravagant love celebrations. His impressive portfolio includes photographing high-profile events, including the weddings of badminton star PV Sindhu with Venkata Datta Sai and Bollywood stars Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal. Most importantly, Radhik had the privilege of documenting Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s second pre-wedding celebrations on board a luxurious cruise, where he immortalized the unforgettable moments through his lens.

Radhik, who is known for his captivating wedding portraits, recently took part in a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session with his followers where he answered questions about his career, photography and the Ambani wedding. In his post, he encouraged users to ask him questions about photography, weddings and more. “Hello, it’s me, Joseph Radhik! Ask me anything about photography, portraits, weddings and more! (AMA),” he captioned the post.

During the session, a user inquired about his experience at the Ambani wedding, which is considered one of the most luxurious weddings in India. The user asked: “Did you have fun and how was the experience for you?” Did the bride’s parents hire you or was the entire wedding organized under the supervision of the Ambanis, including Mrs. Neeta Ambani herself?”

In response, Radhik shared, “It was so much fun! We were hired by the Ambani family and a little known fact about us is that we also photographed the weddings of the other two siblings. :)”

A user asked how he got into photography and what inspired him to pursue this profession. The Reddiotr wrote: “Sir, did you know that you would choose to become a photographer? Or did it come out uncertain or something like that? I’m really curious because I’m at a point in my life where I can no longer differentiate between my hobby or another job that my parents approved of. What were you like at the age of 20? Can you please tell me how you chose your path? Thank you very much!”

Radhik replied, “When I was 20, I was preparing for the CAT and hoping to get into the IIMs. I went to IIM Indore and pursued a regular corporate career for four years before taking the plunge into wedding photography. 🙂 My advice: Your hobby won’t go away, be SO good at it that it takes you away from your main job – no matter what career you choose.”
