Khan Sir had to flee the BPSC protest in Patna after students accused him of hijacking the movement

In a dramatic turn of events, educationist and YouTuber Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, had to flee a protest by students demanding cancellation of the 70th BPSC Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024.

The protest, which has been going on for nine days, intensified as students chased Khan Sir away, accusing him of misusing their protest.

Khan Sir’s attempt to address the protesters fails

Khan Sir had joined the protesting students to show solidarity with their demand for re-examination after allegations of a paper leak surfaced.

However, as captured in a video shared by NDTV, protesters could be seen shouting, “They have hijacked our protest,” prompting Khan Sir to assess the situation and leave the protest area.

Another video shared by ETV Bharat showed a student expressing anger towards Khan Sir, saying, “He runs his shop here… We are capable of handling our protest. We don’t need Khan Sir to tell us where to put our demands.” The protesters emphasized their frustration and rejected any outside interference in their movement.

Students demand re-examination over alleged paper leaks

The protest against the BPSC CCE 2024 exam began on December 13 when hundreds of students, mostly civil services aspirants, sat in a dharna in Gardanibagh, Patna. They are demanding cancellation of the exam due to allegations of paper loss even as the BPSC has strongly rejected the idea of canceling the exam.

In an emotional statement, Khan Sir expressed his support for the students and demanded that the commission should conduct a more rigorous examination. “We’re not running away. We say that you should take a difficult exam and not set questions for children… The questions in our class tests are more difficult than this,” Khan Sir said.

He also raised concerns about the handling of evidence, including CCTV footage, and hinted at plans to approach the Supreme Court and the President of India to address the issue.

“Why did the commission hide the evidence and CCTV footage? Many things have come to light which are the subject of investigation… We will go to the Supreme Court, we will even tell the President what is happening in Bihar… Firstly, “The country’s GDP fell, then the bridge collapsed in Bihar and now BPSC has collapsed,” he added.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also expressed solidarity with the students.

In a tweet, Gandhi compared the paper leak scandal with the Eklavya story and condemned the NDA government’s response to the protests, which included police charges against students. “Playing with the future of students will not be tolerated. We stand with them and will fight to ensure they get justice,” he said.

The situation remains tense as the protesting students continue to demand justice and transparency from the BPSC.
