John Christianson resigns from Christianson CPAs to focus on other businesses – West Central Tribune

WILLMAR – Christianson CPAs and Consultants is honoring the career and contributions of John Christianson as he retires from his position with the firm, according to a news release.

Christianson was a founding partner and now focuses on his software company Beyond and Christianson Benchmarking LLC, which serves biofuel plant operators.

Starting out as an auditor in the early 1980s, Christianson’s experience and contacts grew during the agricultural crisis years. In the 1990s, local farmers approached him seeking financial advice on building an ethanol plant.

After successfully launching one of the first ethanol plants in Minnesota, the company became known for its work supporting ethanol start-ups across the country and was instrumental in the development of several plants in the 2000s.

Christianson CPAs has since grown into a full-service firm offering accounting, tax certification, compliance and business consulting. According to the press release, the company has also positioned itself as a global authority on carbon markets and low-carbon fuel standards through its work in renewable fuels.

Christianson’s 37-year career with the company will be celebrated with a special event on Thursday, January 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Foxhole Brewhouse in Willmar.

By the West Central Tribune staff

Our newsroom occasionally reports under the headline “West Central Tribune Staff Report.” Often the title “West Central Tribune Staff Report” is used when rewriting basic news stories that come from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and that require little or no reporting. Sometimes this byline is used when a news story includes multiple authors or when the story is created by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, this will be noted in the story.
