LTTE: Defends the Panama Canal against China

The Panama Canal remains a critical asset to U.S. strategic interests and reflects the Monroe Doctrine and Roosevelt Corollary in our modern context. As China expands its economic influence in Panama, the canal’s neutrality and our regional dominance are at risk.

The new Trump administration must counterbalance Chinese investment with robust economic diplomacy, strengthen alliances through the OAS and ensure transparency in foreign investments. As we promote soft power through cultural and educational exchanges, we must not shy away from demonstrating our military readiness to deter threats to the Canal’s neutrality.

The canal symbolizes not just a passage but the American commitment to security and prosperity in the hemisphere. The United States must act decisively to keep this strategic artery under our protective gaze and ensure that it stands as a testament to U.S. leadership and foresight for future generations.
