The treetop path in Bad Harzburg attracts 200,000 visitors every year. And for good reason: it has become one of the region’s most important tourist attractions.

Bad Harzburg – Lower Saxony is particularly popular with tourists. No wonder, the state can impress with paradisiacal places on the coast or interesting places – such as a world-wide, rare witch tree avenue. But tourist magnets can also be found in the south. A place has now been visited two million times.

With 50 experience stations, the treetop path offers insights into the nature and culture of the Harz, reports the Harzinfo tourism website. There is a chance to discover 30 different species of trees and shrubs and learn more about the geology of the area. A glass walkway on the 26-meter-high viewing platform has proven to be a particularly popular spot for photographs.

Adventure stations, tree suspension railway and more: the treetop path has become an important tourist attraction

The tree suspension railway, which has been expanding the offering since 2020, allows visitors to glide through the treetops over a distance of 1,000 meters at a speed of up to 15 km/h while enjoying a breathtaking view of the Brocken. An adventure bridge provides additional thrills and tests visitors’ skills.

According to NDR, the treetop path has welcomed more than two million guests since it opened. Approximately 200,000 guests visit the trail each year. The attraction particularly attracts families, school classes and groups. Also in the Harz Mountains there is a place where 600 trees from all over the world can be found.
