The 73rd edition of the Four Hills Tournament really starts on Sunday with the competition in Oberstdorf. On Saturday, three Swiss athletes were able to convince. Gregor Deschwanden completed the qualification in seventh place and proved that he can jump for top 10 places. Killian Peier also made a good attempt and finished tenth. Newcomer Felix Trunz (18) narrowly qualified in 47th place.

Simon Ammann will not be taking part in the main event. The veteran only made it to 51st place. The qualification victory was secured by the Austrian Jan Tschofenig, the favorite for the overall triumph.

The tour is the first highlight for the ski jumpers this season. After the competition in Oberstdorf, the athletes in Germany move on to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (competition on January 1st). This was followed by the two competitions in Austria in Innsbruck (4.1.) and Bischofshofen (6.1.).
