DC facing mega-flop? Superman in a Marvel headlock and now it has caught the new Batman

But the newfound anticipation for blockbusters in the DC universe does not guarantee a sure-fire success. After all, James Gunn, Peter Safran and Co. recently had to postpone one of their most anticipated films of the next few years. Is there a risk of a mega-flop now?

When does The Batman come out?

The Batman was released in cinemas in this country on March 3, 2022. The brand’s comeback with Robert Pattinson in advertising was not only a notable success in the ratings. But around the holidays, doubts arose about the new plan for 2026. Rumors had suggested that the project would be postponed. We now officially know: Despite all previous plans, The Batman 2 will not be released in cinemas on October 2nd, 2026. James Gunn has since commented on this decision on Twitter.

When is The Batman 2 coming to cinemas?

The current plan is to release The Batman 2 on October 1, 2027 to publish. If you believe James Gunn’s words, this is not a strategic shift from the marketing department.
