“Brooklyn Nets hope to avoid season loss to Orlando Magic”

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Brooklyn Nets will face the Orlando Magic for the final time this season this afternoon at the Kia Center.

The Magic and Nets have played three times this season, with Orlando coming out on top all three times. The two teams met in Orlando in October for the Magic’s home opener. Then the Magic won both games in a two-game series on November 29th and December 1st.

Both the Magic and Nets look a little different since the last time the two opponents met.

The Nets have since traded veteran point guard Dennis Schroder to the Golden State Warriors, and the team is still trying to figure out its adjustments on offense.

For the Magic, their changes are due to injuries. Franz Wagner suffered a torn oblique ligament at the beginning of the month and is out indefinitely. His brother Moe tore his cruciate ligament a few weeks later and was out for a year. Since then, however, the Magic have found ways to be resilient in every game.

Since Moe’s injury, the Magic have overcome a deficit of 25 against the Miami Heat and 15 against the defending champion Boston Celtics to win.

The team thrives on their defense-first mentality carrying them through these injury-plagued times.

This poses a major threat to the Nets as they hope to get a spot with the Magic again before playing them until next year.
