Dates: Two wrongs don’t make right – El-Rufai responds to Tinubu’s alleged bias against Yorubas

Immediate former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has responded to allegations by US-based Nigerian journalism professor Farooq Kperogi that he favored ethnic favoritism in the appointment of President Bola Tinubu

In an article titled “Tinubu’s Buharization of the NNPC,” Kperogi accused President Tinubu of appointing Yoruba people to key positions in the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL.

According to him, an anonymous source claimed that one Bayo Ojulari would be proposed as Group Managing Director (GMD) of NNPCL upon the expiration of Mele Kyari’s term.

Kperogi also noted that he had drawn attention to former President Muhammadu Buhari’s unilateral appointments in favor of the North during his administration.

The former governor of Kaduna State, however, advocated for sensible inclusion instead of what he described as arrogant exclusion.

“Two wrongs don’t make a right. “Reasonable inclusion always trumps arrogant exclusion,” he said.
