Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen: Union advises a Christmas bonus check – Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

The Food, Pleasure and Restaurants union (NGG) is calling on employees in the district to check their claims for Christmas bonuses. Manuel Halbmeier from NGG Rosenheim-Oberbayern warns that some employers “forget” the special payment despite contractual assurances – especially for trainees and mini-jobbers.

In the guild’s bakeries, for example, employees are entitled to 25 to 45 percent of their monthly salary as a Christmas bonus after one year of service. Collective bargaining agreements often ensure higher payments: in the Bavarian confectionery industry, dairy industry and breweries there is a full 13th month salary. Halbmeier emphasizes that 77 percent of employees in collectively agreed companies receive Christmas bonuses, compared to only 52 percent overall. It is not legally required. If in doubt, it’s worth calling the relevant union, advises Halbmeier.
