Ohio woman charged in connection with 2023 NorthPark Mall robbery

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – A Cincinnati, Ohio woman was arrested Friday in connection with an alleged robbery at NorthPark Mall in Davenport in July 2023.

Lamaya Winslow, 29, is charged with second-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime of violence, both Class C felonies.

On the afternoon of July 8, 2023, Davenport Police responded to a report of a robbery at NorthPark Mall.

According to police, Winslow is accused of conspiring with others to rob a mall department store and was the “getaway driver” of an SUV with stolen license plates that was used in the crime.

Back in April, a Cincinnati man was arrested and also accused of being a co-conspirator in the alleged robbery.

Brandon Hardin, 19, is charged with second-degree robbery, a Class C felony, conspiracy to commit a non-violent felony, a Class D felony, and assault on a person in a particular occupation, a serious misdemeanor.

According to the affidavits, Hardin entered the employee area of ​​a department store and grabbed several high-end bags from the display and shelf before attempting to run toward the exit.

An off-duty Davenport Police Department officer was in the store at the time and attempted to stop Hardin while identifying himself as “Davenport Police,” according to affidavits.

The off-duty officer confronted Hardin inside the store and was struck in the left eye before Hardin ran from the store, got into the waiting SUV with Winslow and fled the scene, arrest affidavits said.

According to arrest affidavits, more than $2,000 in wallets were seized before the physical altercation.

The subsequent investigation revealed that Hardin and Winslow traveled from Ohio to Iowa in a rental vehicle to commit a series of thefts, according to affidavits.

Winslow is in the Scott County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

A status hearing for Hardin is scheduled for April 1, with a final preliminary hearing currently scheduled for April 16.

Hardin waived his right to a speedy trial and requested a jury trial, currently scheduled to begin April 21 in Scott County.
