The ring is often sold on Aliexpress Xiaomi named as manufacturer. That’s almost certainly not true. It is a common ploy for no-name products on Chinese shopping platforms to be attributed to Xiaomi because it is a trustworthy but supposedly acceptable brand for Western buyers.

In addition to Xiaomi, the SR08 can also be found under manufacturer names such as Modern and Ola Esports. In the photos in the user reviews you can see that the packaging only says “Smart Ring”.

Be careful when purchasing

As usual, you should be careful with electronics from China, especially if they are cheap. Since the ring has only been offered for a short time, there are no long-term reports on it yet.

If you are still tempted, be particularly careful: the charging cradle for the SR08 is also sold individually on Aliexpress and some offers are only for the ring, without charging cradle. But you definitely need it to supply the ring with power.
