The world’s first smart ring with a display is dirt cheap

Smart rings are currently trendy, but have 2 disadvantages. First: They are expensive. Samsung’s Galaxy Ring costs, for example. 450 euros. Second: They don’t have a display. If you want to use it to replace the smartwatch or the usual fitness tracker, you have to do without visual information.

The smart ring SR08 will solve both problems. It will be the world’s first smart ring with a display and will only cost a fraction of the smart rings from well-known manufacturers.

Sports and sleep tracking

The ring promises sensors on the inside heart rate and the Blood oxygen level to eat. Besides, he will Steps and Sleep record, as well as data on the Activities “Running, cycling, jumping, hiking, mountaineering, yoga, golf and dancing”.

From 20 euros

We don’t know exactly who makes the ring with a display. A company called Rogbid sold the ring for $90 as the Rogbid SR08 Ultra. On Aliexpress and other Chinese sales platforms you can find it as SR08 from 20 euros – with specific specifications and product photos. The only difference: The Rogbid SR08 Ultra supposedly has one Titanium case – but this should be treated with caution.

In addition to Xiaomi, the SR08 can also be found under manufacturer names such as Modern and Ola Esports. In the photos in the user reviews you can see that the packaging only says “Smart Ring”.

Be careful when purchasing

As usual, you should be careful with electronics from China, especially if they are cheap. Since the ring has only been offered for a short time, there are no long-term reports on it yet.

If you are still tempted, be particularly careful: the charging cradle for the SR08 is also sold individually on Aliexpress and some offers are only for the ring, without charging cradle. But you definitely need it to supply the ring with power.
