Intel is said to be planning Battlemage graphics cards for 2025 that offer 24 gigabytes of graphics memory and wants to make an offer to professional users. The first generation of Arc desktop graphics cards also included the Arc Pro series, but it did not offer more memory than the gaming models.

“Arc B580” with 24 instead of 12 GB of memory?

Things could be different with Battlemage, as X users point out @harukaze5719 There. According to a report from China that he picked up, Intel is planning a 24 GB version that will then be aimed explicitly at professional users – Arc Pro 2.0?

The report has not yet commented on which GPU basis this could be done, X user @GawroskiT However, he points out that two weeks ago he had already found entries for an Intel Arc B580 (test) with the reference “clamshell” in shipping documents. It could also be a B580 variant with 24 instead of 12 GB GDDR6 – a larger GPU doesn’t currently exist.

The so-called clamshell process makes it possible to accommodate two 32-bit memory modules on a 32-bit memory controller and was most recently used by Nvidia, for example, in the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with 16 instead of 8 GB of memory.

Hint at larger Battlemage variants?

It cannot be ruled out that there are already larger Battlemage graphics cards based on the BMG-G31 GPU behind the rumors, the existence of which Intel has neither confirmed nor denied to date. Like the B580 based on BMG-G21, these models should also buy memory compared to the maximum of 16 GB in the predecessor (Arc A770 Limited Edition). The latest rumors this fall only spoke of a release in the third quarter of 2025.

Intel may use the CES 2025 press conference on January 6th to introduce the new Arc Pro series.
