12/30/24 – Now it’s over: Monday was the last day of the winter forest “Unterm Heilig Kreuz” in Fulda. As every year, the Winterwald was open longer than the “normal” Christmas market. This meant that visitors were able to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere in the cathedral city for a few days longer.

The winter forest has been operated by “Team Aulich” for years. Luisa Aulich said a few days ago EAST HESSEN|NEWS: “We are actually quite satisfied. We had good conditions, the weather was nice and we had a really relaxed atmosphere here in the forest.” The weather in the last few days was also perfect for a Christmas market conclusion.

By the way: There is a simple reason why the Winterwald is open longer than the Christmas market. “We build up in four weeks and tear down in a week and a half, so the duration has to be a little longer, otherwise it’s not worth it,” explains Aulich.

Now Christmas market fans have to wait a year until it starts again. Until then we have one last series of pictures from our photographer Martin Engel from the winter forest. Feel free to click through his pictures. (Moritz Pappert) +++
