The new newsletter “Simply Fit” provides tips and knowledge on the topics of fitness, nutrition, health and mental well-being. Behind the offer is Alexandra Grauvogl, former ski racer and fitness trainer, who shares her expertise from 15 years of competitive sports and as a fitness editor.

I was a ski racer and member of the German national ski and ski cross team for around 15 years, and was in the World Cup circuit for several years. In 2007 I celebrated my greatest success with a bronze medal at the World Championships. During this time, the weight room was my second living room. But it also includes long endurance sessions on the bike, athletic training and much more. Depending on the season or training cycle, the focus was elsewhere.

I have had to fight back several times after serious knee injuries and face the mental challenges of competitive sports: focus, motivation, stress, tension and relaxation, pressure – self-imposed and from outside. I wasn’t always successful; I had to learn some things the hard way.

I have been in “ski retirement” since 2011 and as a hobby athlete I still prefer to be out in the mountains, running, surfing or in the gym. As an editor, I can continue to focus on my favorite topics of fitness and health. In addition to my DSV ski instructor training, I also obtained a fitness instructor B license at the IST University.

Why am I telling all this? Because I would like to invite you to benefit from my expertise – by registering for our new newsletter “Simply Fit”. After registering for free you will automatically receive it in your email inbox.

Now some people will ask themselves: “What am I supposed to do with tips from an ex-professional if I have done little or no exercise myself?” The answer is simple: successful training, a healthy diet or the development of Resilience is based on the same basic principles – no matter what level. In the “Simply Fit” newsletter, I, together with other experts, explain to you how you can implement these in your everyday life. “Simply Fit” is aimed at everyone who wants to stay or become fit and healthy.

Physical and mental fitness are the basis for being functional and productive in everyday life and at work and for remaining healthy in old age – and therefore fundamental for a long, happy life.

The great thing about it: Regardless of current fitness level, gender or age, everyone can do something for better fitness! Building muscle also works for people over 60, it’s always possible to start exercising (the best day is by the way!), advanced people and professionals can set ambitious goals or learn something new.

The same applies to our mental well-being: There are strategies on how we can reduce stress and deal better with pressure to perform. It’s not just as a professional skier that you make one or two crash landings with physical or mental consequences. Sooner or later we all struggle with setbacks or face challenges. It’s good if you’re prepared – with advice from experts in psychology and mental training. This is also what the “Simply Fit” newsletter is about.
