Two were arrested after a series of thefts in Staunton

STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) – Two people are facing charges after a series of thefts were reported in Staunton over the past few months.

Between September 30 and November 24, Staunton Police received several reports of items being stolen from other people’s vehicles.

Nysiah Plaisance, 19, was arrested Dec. 5 and charged with two counts of petit larceny, two counts of entering a vehicle with the intent to commit a felony, possession of burglary tools and wearing a mask in public.

On Dec. 16, Plaisance received additional charges including credit card theft, nine counts of petty theft and 11 counts of entering a vehicle with the intent to commit a felony.

A 17-year-old boy was also arrested on December 20 in connection with the cases.

He was charged with eight counts of credit card theft, two counts of grand theft, 19 counts of petit theft and 26 counts of entering a vehicle with the intent to commit a felony.
