“We are doing this for the first time in this form.” It is intended as a small thank you for Christmas. “We looked at which facilities the employees had to work in on public holidays and selected the hospice and the fire department,” says Florian Keplin, operations manager at “Call a Pizza Wolfsburg”. The fire brigade is particularly active during the holidays. “And we just wanted to make a small statement,” emphasizes Keplin. There were no requirements for the recipients when placing their orders, nor were there any price limits. Joy at the fire department and hospice house

This gesture was well received by the professional fire brigade: “It’s a nice change, especially on the holidays, because part of the on-duty guard department includes cooking and standing in the kitchen to a certain extent,” the on-duty guard department head told the WAZ editorial team Inquiry with with. Each fire department has a handful of colleagues who are confident enough to cook for a team of more than 20 people. These “amateur chefs” also had a bit of a break thanks to the delivery service’s campaign. “We eat on Christmas evenings together with all our colleagues who are on duty, that’s just part of the camaraderie.”

In the hospice house, a team of nursing staff and volunteers look after the residents at Christmas and accompany them on the final journey of life. Hospice managing director Lucas Weiß welcomed the idea of the delivery service. “We have so many supporters and it’s very nice that our employees are also being thought of.” On Monday, for example, I brought food to the “Te Nona” restaurant, but not for the team. “There were ox cheeks for our guests, which was also a very nice gesture,” reports Weiß.

The delivery service has two locations in Wolfsburg: On Mecklenburger Straße and on Neuhäuser Straße in Vorsfelde. According to its own information, “Call a Pizza” is the second largest pizza supplier in Germany.
