Bushfire | Advice – Bushfires – Stay informed

This advisory is issued for Armstrong, Great Western.
*This notice replaces Watch and Act dated 26 December 2026. Please note that the warning areas for the Grampians National Park Fire – Yarram Gap Rd have been updated to simplify the warning areas.
* There is a bushfire in the Grampians National Park – Yarram Gap Road which is not yet under control.
* The spread of fires on private property has been stopped.
* Strong winds from the west or southwest are expected over the next few days, which may increase fire activity.
* Firefighters, heavy machinery and aircraft will remain in the area.
* The Mt William communications tower was damaged. Your phone and internet services may be affected. Tune into local radio for emergency updates. You are not in danger at this time, but you should stay informed and plan
what you will do if the situation changes. What you should do:
* Monitor weather conditions and alerts.
* Review your fire survival plan.
* If you don’t have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. Impact in your region:
* Emergency services remain on site.
* Check the VicTraffic website (traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au/) or call 13 11 70 for road closure information.
* Smoke can be seen from surrounding communities and streets. This message was issued by Forest Fire Management Victoria.
The next update is expected to be on December 27, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. or if the situation changes.
