Goaltender Akira Schmid has been used in the NHL for the first time since moving from New Jersey to the Vegas Golden Knights in the summer. The 24-year-old came on as a substitute in the 27th minute of the 5-2 home defeat against Carolina after Adin Hill was defeated for the fourth time.

Schmid, who played exclusively in the AHL this season, did very well: he stopped all 12 shots on goal. The Golden Knights were only able to reduce the score to 1:4 before an “empty-netter” made the decision. In the final seconds, Vegas added some cosmetic results with a power play goal.

Josi with assist

It was the next defeat for the Nashville Predators with captain Roman Josi. In the 2:3 nV defeat in Denver at the Colorado Avalanche, the team from Tennessee at least won one point. And Josi provided his 10th assist of the current season. The Bern defender set up Colton Sissons’s goal to make it 2-2 in an exemplary manner in the 41st minute.

With Kevin Fiala, the third Swiss lost during the night on Tuesday. The striker lost 3-1 away to the Calgary Flames with the Los Angeles Kings and remained without a scorer point.
