The temperatures are falling and it will soon be icy: The German Weather Service (DWD) expects frost and slippery conditions in the Zollernalb district in the coming days. Snow might fall.

Winter is approaching: The German Weather Service (DWD) is expecting colder air in the Zollernalb district over the course of the week. A low altitude will bring further cooling to Baden-Württemberg from the northeast.

“The rainfall will be comparatively weak,” DWD meteorologist Dominik Mieskol tells our editorial team. The weather models still showed some uncertainties: It is still unclear where precipitation – and therefore snow – could have fallen in the southwest, especially on Thursday night. But: “The snowfall limit drops to up to 600 meters.”

DWD: First snowflakes possible

For the area around Albstadt, Meßstetten and Burladingen, this means: “There could be the first snowflakes.” At the same time, DWD expert Mieskol emphasizes: “But snowfall would be saying too much.”

The Zollernalbkreis is still a long way from complete snow cover, but not from frost and black ice.

Temperatures of minus three degrees are expected as early as Wednesday night, and it will also be icy on Thursday and Friday nights. “You have to expect a lot of frost again at night,” says Mieskol.
