Real Madrid are ‘considering’ a winter offer for the Arsenal star as the defender finds it ‘difficult’ to ignore ‘strong interest’

Real Madrid have reportedly made Arsenal centre-back William Saliba their “priority” for the summer 2025 transfer window but are “considering” making a bid in January.

arsenal signed Saliba for ÂŁ27m from Saint-Etienne in 2019, but He didn’t make his first competitive appearance for the club until August 2022.

He previously spent time on loan at his former clubs Nice and Marseille Mikel Arteta made him a regular in his starting lineup.

Neither Arteta nor Saliba have looked back since. The Frenchman has formed one of the best centre-back partnerships in world football alongside Gabriel Magalhaes, helping the Gunners challenge for the Premier League title.

They have not won a trophy since their FA Cup success in 2020, but have finished second in defense in successive Premier League seasons with Saliba and Gabriel together.

As one of the best defenders in the world, Saliba is linked to European champions real Madridand Paris Saint-Germain.

The 23-year-old was born just outside Paris so this move might appeal to him, although Madrid is considered the pinnacle for most footballers.

Is Saliba leaving Arsenal? Real Madrid make Gunners star a ‘priority’ in 2025

Links to Los Blancos are not going away and a new report from French broadcaster Le10 Sport claims Arsenal are ready to offer Saliba a new contract.

The France international signed a new four-year contract last July, meaning he only has two years left at the end of the season.

Real Madrid have given the signing a ‘priority’ in the 2025 summer transfer window but are tempted to make a bid when the window opens in January.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side could increase their interest after Eder Militao is ruled out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.

This injury means a “duel” between Madrid and Arsenal has begun and “things are moving forward”.

Despite Los Blancos’ “very strong interest”, it is claimed that “Arsenal are not giving up” on keeping Saliba, who is “really comfortable” in London.

The Gunners are “aware of Madrid’s interest” and have “great confidence” in the Frenchman staying, with talks beginning over a contract extension.

As already mentioned, “Madrid is thinking about taking action in the winter window” and Saliba “does not remain indifferent to their interest”.

The player finds it “hard not to listen to or even think about” such a project, even though it is still in its early stages and the Spanish giants have not yet sent “the slightest suggestion” to Saliba or Arsenal.

Nevertheless, “the Saliba attack could arrive sooner than expected given Militao’s serious injury” and a winter offer is “being considered” as Madrid “intend to recruit a new central defender”.
