Gender inequalities have recently been investigated in the specific areas of sciences and medicine (1, 2). In France, undergraduate women have a higher success rate than men (91 vs 86%à and comprise the majority of university students. In medicine, 62% of first-year students are women, while it concerns only 20% of university professor. Similarly, low rates are reported for chiefs of staff and heads of departments (3,4).
